No Big Deal

Joe had court this morning. This one was in Breckinridge County over his contempt charge for what used to be called Goatgate, but is now Horsegate.

Here’s Nicole’s update, transcribed for you.  Video with a little interpretation below that.

Sorry the wind’s blowing my face. Um, I’m going live just to do a quick update. Um, (laughs) Bandit. Muddy dog wants to jump on me.

Anyways (garbled) the lighting.

Just got back from our court today, and they. . . contempt charges for the horse getting out was set for next month. So, we’ll have to worry about that next month.

But I did want to mention something interesting. Um, the gentleman who’s threatened my husband at the shop last month, who lives and works in Hardin County, was actually sitting in the courthouse today. Um, God knows why he was there. Uh, he has no business being there. I assume the trolls sent him. Why they sent him I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that that will just increase more harassment charges for him, because he already has harassment charges, and stalking us in Hardin, in Breckinridge County is probably not a very smart move, but it’s been forwarded to the proper authorities.

Um, otherwise, everything’s going great. We had some rain. You can see it’s kinda soggy there. I know it was bumped. That’s our scrap metal pile, if anybody saw that in the beginning of the video and down our driveway, for the property.

The roosters are chit-chatting. Here’s the woods up behind me.

Anyways, that’s just all I really wanted to say, um, we’re still in the process of getting the move worked on and, um, things are going pretty smoothly.

We don’t know anything about my son’s court case. Um, that probably won’t be til another week or two til we know more about that, and um, and whatnot.

But if anybody has any questions, um, I’ll answer them in the comments, uh, and hopefully things will go better the rest of this month but like I said, as far as the court case today, it’s just been set out for another month. So, we’ll have to come back, because we will be moved by then, and we’ll have to come back out which isn’t a big deal.

So I hope you guys have a good rest of the day, and if you have any questions, just post them in the comments and I’ll be monitoring that for the rest of the day.

All righty, thanks.

They go to court so often that it’s not a big deal.  Only what is a big deal is that the hearing this morning was to determine if Joe should be held in contempt, and it wasn’t tossed.  It was not tossed.

And one other thing.  The courtroom is public.  Nicole knows this. Anyone can go there.

Nobody “sent” Eric to the courtroom. He has a vested interest in knowing what happens with Joe and Nicole.  It’s natural that he would want to be there.  Nicole Naugler does not have the right to say who “has business” being in a public courtroom.

For somebody who simply doesn’t think there should be any government, she spends an awful lot of time fretting over it.

  1. Court days have become so common place in this family the kids probably think it is normal.

  2. Nicole says “and if you have any questions, just post them in the comments and I’ll be monitoring that for the rest of the day.”

Of course you will. Facebook is your life. You need the attention. Your business isn’t booming, what else do you have to do? Except maybe pay attention to your kids. You know, maybe read with them?

  3. In her comments she also posted a pic (with license plate) that she stated was Eric’s car parked in the (public) parking lot. To use her words, “that might not be too smart for someone who already has harassment charges”. What a blatant example of the Naugs not seeing or owning their own shit.
I’ve decided not to go BEC and mention that adults don’t usually wipe their noses with hands, especially while on video. So, yea, I don’t see my own shit either.

  4. I love she said his court will be in another month, so they will worry about that next month. Who the hell has a court date that could result in paying money in fines or going to jail or both and they are going to worry about it next month. I had a speeding ticket, and my husband wanted to fight it because I sort of lied to him and said I wasn’t speeding but really I was so I finally had to fess up. I paid that damn ticket the next day because I didn’t want to worry about the police hauling me off to jail where I might be beaten up by hardened criminals or worse…you know?

See, that’s why they are always in this cluster-fuck of a mess. For instance, she knew they were under investigation for dumping shit, but she was not going to worry about it until later, and then later comes, and they are told to use a port-a-potty, which the ignorant fucks have to pay for and pay for it to be emptied. Just like getting the kids removed…they knew they needed to talk to the DHS folks, but what do they do, let’s worry about it later. If DHS had called me and said they had a complaint about my my parenting skills, I would have called an attorney, for legal advice and would have cooperated to the fullest extent possible. Same with the kids’ testing. Nicole and Joe had to know that the day would come when the children would have to sit down and be tested so the state could assess their children’s educational growth, but what do they do? Of course, the Naugler way…we will worry about that later but for now, we will let them eat beans and do what-ever-the-fuck they want to do as long as they do it quietly and it doesn’t cost money. How fucking hard would it have been to go to Barnes and Noble and buy some age appropriate math, reading, English, and science work books and teach the kids a little something other than how to bamboozle everyone. I buy those workbooks all the time for my grandchildren so that I can make sure they are making progress. In fact, I buy them spelling flash cards and math cards and recently we bought science cards.

My mind spins thinking about how inept they are as parents…hell, inept as humans. My damn cats have more sense than J and N…they shit in their litter box and cover the shit up and fuss at me when they want it emptied…they wash their face and rear ends, not always in that order; they want fresh water and demand clean bowls to eat from. They watch out for each other and they follow the rules of their little pack…Russian Blue is the Alpha cat, Yellow Tabby is the second in command, and the kitten (really ten years old) is the baby they take care of. Simple, right….not so with the village idiots. Damn….

  5. Now she wants to say who can go in public places??? We need to conform? Lol

Hey Nicole how’s posting plates of cars working

  6. I think her “it’s no big deal” response is a form of denial about the reality of the situation. Give it a day or two to sink in, they will start to feel the pressure and then she, and Joe, will get really irate. I’d bet money that there will be a vlog about the evil Ron and Linda Sneed. Part of that vlog will include a castigation of Eric and Viv. And of course Al, Lisa, and Sally who Joe and Nicole say are the origin of all their problems.

Of course, just about all of the drama they are plagued with could have been avoided if Joe and Nicole had obeyed the law, paid their bills and had been civil to those around them. But they won’t do that. The egos of these practically homeless people will not permit them to admit they screwed up in ways that are quite epic. They’re fixing to have their 12th kid and they live in a shed and mommy and daddy don’t want to spend their time there with their kids. They barely feed and clothe their kids. Nicole goes to the salon, grooms some dogs, spends most of her time on Facebook, tries to intimidate neighbors. Joe sits in the car and stalks Vivian?!? That is his job to stalk and try to intimidate people? No, they have had more than enough opportunity to learn and they’ve been handed plenty of lessons and admonitions. They are predators, yes, but more than anything they are dented mystery can bottom feeder losers. I say this carefully but I believe that any effort of goodwill towards the Nauglers will essentially be turned into a figurative knife that they will stick into any benefactor’s back. Anyone who stands up to them will get what Vivian experienced and what hundreds more experienced via the internet. They are predators and I believe that the law should deal with them as such.

  7. I go to court all the time. I *even* sit in courtrooms and watch proceedings that don’t involve my clients. Because I can. Guess what, Nicole? It isn’t harassment. It isn’t stalking. And, it isn’t going to get your husband’s case dismissed.

    0

  8. They should take the kids to court with them. It’s a public place; anyone can go there. It would be a good #unschooling lesson. No one needs the N’s permission to show up at a court house! Did the man speak to her, approach her, leap out and stick a camera in her face? I bet nope, or we would be hearing about it. But there are videos of N doing these things just last week. And now posting a picture of a license plate? Sounds just like harrassment to me.

  9. Eric had the right to be in court. It is a public venue and he was there for a stated and personal purpose. As was Nicole. Right up until she ran outside and photographed his car and posted it publicly with false averments, imo. Having a hissy fit in the courtroom certainly goes toward her intent as well as deed. Now we are going into actual criminal harassment and stalking land, imo. Not just the make believe bullshit she spoon feeds her blinded followers and newbies. Does she actually understand the statutes she posts on her pages? I highly doubt it. IMHO she would realize it is she who is treading on very thin ice.

  10. @jeannie
the cats I feed next door have a very OLD shed. At one time it was a dog lot & the dogs could get in the warm & dry to eat or sleep. As my neighbor aged he could no longer coon hunt. He used boards and closed off the dog boxes. He cut a hole for the cats in the front. He gave them a very heavy pan on a sturdy hand made table. These cats were so loved by him that his daughter came back & flew 3 of them to AZ. One cat made a car ride. It’s funny how animals like to be clean & require the basics. They bath regularly. They will choose new boxes and blankets to remind me to wash the dirty ones.
Nicole!!!! These are stray cats and they live better than your children. You want to get on Facebook and act like a victim. Truth is you dont give 2 fucks about anyone but yourself.
I had a man tell me once to “look at that car, those people have about fucked themselves out of a place to sit” I’m laughing but honestly, Nicole you have fucked yourself out of a TOWN.

  11. I used to think the Thénardiers of Les Misérables were too filthy, down to their very souls, to exist outside the time that book was written. Sure, horrible people exist in each age, but their kind of filth just didn’t seem possible in this modern age. But the Nauglers keep proving me wrong.

  12. “The roosters”. Ah yes, the homesteaders with multiple roosters and no hens. At least their continued existence suggests to me the kids must not be going hungry, or they would have been killed and eaten by now.

  13. It wasn’t only the licence plate and car posted. Earlier she had a short video entering and then whithin the court room itself showing the party seated at the back and a close up still shot of “the evil stalker” with a caption saying that he was the one who threatend Joe’s life. Those only stayed up for about an hour or slighlty longer before she realized that posting them was probably a really bad idea.

I also noted that on Saturday she posted a pretty dramatic “Breckenridge County has just taken all our moving money” …because counties do that on Saturday afternoons. Shortly afterwards Joe posted a PayPal (Pay Nicole) donations bid…. that has so far not recieved a single donation. (unless they get paid per click to check how it was doing, in which case I propbably gave them about 20 cents so far if it were to pay at say 1 cent a click lol)

  14. She looks horrible.

What the hell is going on with her hair? Right where it parts, it looks like a big plug of hair is missing, and her temples are receding back like a guy. Not a nice look. Can you imagine having fleas jump off of dogs you’re bathing getting under those hair mats? Makes me itch looking at it.

Nicole, you need to see a goddamned doctor. Seriously. Not sure if it’s working too much, the infections in your blood from those septic chompers, or just being completely used up by so many pregnancies….hell, maybe it’s the stress of being made a little bit accountable for your actions for the first time ever, or the reality that your kids are not going to stay with you forever that’s coming to fruition as they have families of their own and leave. Something is different this time around.

Whatever the hell is going on? You’re not well. You look like you’ve aged ten years in the last year. I’m not even being a jerk, seriously, I’m worried you could be in trouble with this pregnancy. Go get checked out. Get some vitamins. Get some rest.

Smartest thing you could do for yourself is to get off the damned internet and invest in a real friend. Find another mom you can talk to. Get away from all the conflict and nuttiness. Start working on strategies to keep your kids. Unplug the whole house and take turns reading books with the whole family. Do some arithmetic fact dodge ball. Start researching age appropriate basic learning objectives and at least make an effort. You’re late to the game, but if you show initiative and willingness to get the kids back on track, it will help your case!

Nicole, I honest to God am worried about you. Get a physical, and kick Joe in the ass to help you more. He wants to stay home and school the kids? He needs to get his butt in gear and make an effort. He needs to develop a portfolio for each child, and a plan for each one’s education. Samples of their work. Documentation of what they DO each unschool day. Proof that they are putting in the required hours and days.

Really think about what would happen to your kids if you stroked out or died of eclampsia or had a placental detachment.

Go to the damned doctor, woman. Your color is awful. You seem weak and exhausted. You look…like shit. Swallow your stubborn and get checked out.

    0

  15. Nicole looks awful. Just so unhealthy. Neither her nor Joe are going to live to see all of their children grow up. Then again, I fear some of the children won’t live long enough to grow up.

I missed this! Can you post the donation link? Would love to have a look at that, myself:)

  17. About an hour ago Nicole posted pictures that the female child had washed dishes. She put a pink apron on her little brother. Am I the only one that feels like those dishes were washed in the stagnant pond? Where did the mud come from? Why not take a picture of the chore being done? Why did you take him outside to photograph? Nicole?

    0

  18. Sure …that picture of said touching from washing dishes with dirt all over….look at all the broken steps, and stabbing trash everywhere

  19. SD…all I see is a Paypal account asking how much I’d like to give. There’s no indication there of what has been donated or not donated.

    0

  20. @Pay Pal Princess
I don’t think any money has been donated. They follow no laws, rules of society and I can promise you they won’t follow pay pal standards. That’s court cost money for next month. That’s why she is asking.

  21. There was one comment under the latest video that said NN shouldn’t post license plate numbers & now it’s gone. I didn’t think you could post a license plate like that either. Does anyone know?

    0

  22. Nicole says , often , that Eric has harassment charges. NO HE DOESN’T. His charges are the same as fatasses “MENACING”.

As far as the picture of our car, in the top left of her own picture (?) THEIR VAN is visible. Eric was there loooong before they were. It’s on the video from the courthouse parking lot. Yet they decided to park beside our car. Who is stalking whom?

Eric spoke with a bailiff. He was well within OUR RIGHTS to be there.

That’s right, Nicole….what he did WAS NOT AGAINST THE LAW.
~just like you filming my shop and dog and posting them on your personal page was not against the law~

Stomp. Whine. Blog. Film. Bitch. Post.

It doesn’t matter and it doesn’t change a thing. You silly bitch!

  23. Did I see three new puppies in a pic on Facebook? Guess spaying and neutering are a no go in Nogland.

  24. Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I would like to thank everyone for all the support everyone has given viv and I. We are also thankful for the best wishes for our little girl. I was at the court proceedings this morning. And just between you and me, it was hilarious watching fatass and dreads squirming around like little tiny worms on a big fat hook after they saw me sitting in the room. Bwaaaaaaah

    0

  25. Nicole, you need to see a doctor & get checked out. It looks like you are having problems catching your breath. How is your blood pressure? I know you go by the thought that back in the day people didn’t use doctors & such. That is true. Back in the day they didn’t have them available. Back in the day lots of children were left orphaned or with just the dad when mom died. Don’t do that to your kids. Imagine the quality of female Joe would bring into his life if you should die.

I hope you take care of yourself. You’re older and pregnancy isn’t easy when you’re older. Add the fact that the older you are the more chance of something going wrong with not only your body, but the genetics of your baby.

    0

  26. Does anyone know?

License plates are fully visible to everyone around. There is no expectation of privacy with a license plate. In fact, it’s the exact opposite.

So, no, it’s not illegal to do that. It’s bad form, though.

  27. Hahaha in her nose wiping video she says they will be moved in the next month…before the next court case…yeah right.

    0

  28. Did anyone else notice several 2-3 month old puppies jumping around in a recent video? I am guessing that these are “Angel’s” pups, based on their appearance.

As if it isn’t bad enough that Nojo continue to breed and further tax their negligible resources, they allow their poor pets to do the same. I am sure that there will be a vast market in rural KY for (I assume) mixed breed puppies with no papers.

I am sure that they could find a program to spay Angel for very little $, but priorities, folks! If they cannot successfully sell the puppies, I would wager that they will just abandon them on the Shitstead if/when they move. Nojo, you are awful people!

    0

  29. Necoli does not look well in that video at all. Damn girl I know you don’t do the doctor thing, medical thing or whatever, but I think it’s time for a checkup. Is it just me or does there seem to be a huge difference in her appearance even from the Dueling Banjos video? Yikes

    0

  30. I am going to go ahead and armchair diagnose Nicole with pernicious anemia (or perhaps some sort of other vitamin deficiency). Nicole, please go to a doctor and have a physical including having your vitamin levels checked. Your children need to have more adults in their lives than just Joe.

    0

  31. “Hahaha in her nose wiping video she says they will be moved in the next month…before the next court case…yeah right.”

Plus it really doesn’t matter if they’ve moved or not. Joe has violated a court decree and no doubt has worn through whatever good will was remaining towards them in that portion of the state.

    0

  32. Did anyone else notice several 2-3 month old puppies jumping around in a recent video?

Puppies are old. Angel has been dead for two years.

    0

  33. Skeletal face in this video and the one before the court one, court one her face seems almost puffy. The Q&A showed a slim face also. McD’s the day of court must have pumped too much sodium into her and her face was puffy that day.
In all seriousness, I too see a serious medical issue with her. I don’t understand why she doesn’t get her remaining teeth pull, wouldn’t it be healthier?! Pop in some dentures.
I’m sorry but she’s too damn old to be having more kids. I feel for the people who weren’t able to until an older age but she already has a litter. My dad was in his 40s when he had me and I would never do that to my kids, he almost died from poor health when I was 12 and has basically been dying since. I grew up taking care of him. It would be different if a healthy 40 something year old who doesn’t already have a litter is having a kid but this is ridic.

  34. On the subject of vitamin deficiencies: I was recently diagnosed with a pretty significant vitamin D deficiency. Apparently it is pretty widespread and underdiagnosEd. I would never had a clue about it if I hadn’t been pushing my dr to figure out why I am always so tired.
I vaguely recall being told to supplement with vit d when i was nursing kid #1 a few years back, and reading about the deficiency, breastfeeding moms are better off supplementing.

I guess it is not super prevalent in foods, which is why milk is fortified with it. I think fish/fish oils are the big food source for it, neither of which are a regular thing in my diet. Sunlight is the big source, and I am north with long winters where I tend to stay inside. I am around the same age as N, with less kids (and less years of nursing them) and I managed to get deficient. It would not be a huge stretch to think it could be a possibility in her case. I am currently taking weekly Rx megadoses and in a couple more months will get retested. I am also now super aware of what I am feeding my little northern non fish eating kiddos. Some of my reading about it linked vit d deficiency to a wide selection of possible Heath issues (i only did a little bit of internet research about that because I tend to be a hypochondriac, and additional reading would have had me on my deathbed saying farewell, so I just decided to do my remedial
Supplementation and hope for the best.
(I also have a small farm, so while I do hunker down in the winter, I do manage sun exposure daily in the summer months, which is evidently not enough)

  35. It can be confusing trying to keep the photos Nicole posts straight, but I think re-posted posts should have the original post date near the top.

I was glad to see that the youngest boy (in the apron pic) appeared to have new-looking shoes on. I wonder who looks after him every day. Probably the sisters. Those children are used to caring for their younger siblings; they had to figure things out since their parents are too busy “fighting the man.”

As to Nicole’s appearance – it’s her body, her health. She can either (A) take care of herself or (B) let herself go. So far, she seems to be choosing option B. When a woman is pregnant, nature makes sure that the nutrients the growing baby needs come first. It’s probably the only time that a child’s needs are met first in that family.

Eric and Viv – you have my sincere sympathy for having to deal with the Naugler nonsense. Glad Eric showed up to court. I hope at least one or two locals are able to make every Naugler court appearance. Contrary to what Nicole wants her humpers to believe, attending an open and public court session is completely legal.

  36. Poor Nicnag is suffering from the stress caused by the choices she and her husband, the deadbeat dad, have made. And he is a deadbeat dad (a man or woman who does not support his/her child or children and would as soon sit on his/her lard ass than have money removed from his/her check to pay back child support is by definition dead beat). There are so many things that she is stressed about that require her to prioritize her worrying time….in a couple of weeks she has the court date of her minor son…in a month the court date for the deadbeat dad, and the ever present danger of her children being removed because of educational neglect.

I’ve noticed that when Nicnag is stressed and she realizes she is being seen for who she really is, she begins an all out campaign to rectify her image, as if. She really wants to appear on a talk show and I believe she dreams of getting a gig on TLC where they show the world what it’s like to live off grid (LMAO) and how to grow a small cluster of peanuts, how to butcher the family pet, how to destroy a water shed, how to pollute a pond so the water won’t eve support a Canadian goose (you know the pond reeks of stink if a goose won’t land and lay an egg or two). Maybe she will demonstrate how to can all the bounty from her garden or how to dry the food she has foraged, or how to ferment all those wild greens she has growing out of control off her…wait, that’s her hair.

My point is that she wants all this crap to go viral for a big payday and maybe a gig….but she has no clue how to market herself as a dog groomer so how in the hell is she going to go for TV personality? Poor dreamers. Don’t you think it’s time to put the dreams aside and face reality? You’ve got more kids than can ride safely in a large van and that you clearly seem to have little time left for at the end of the day so give up the “do you know who we are” dream and take care of your kids….wash your hair….brush your teeth…and wash those damn nasty hands.

  37. Dentures are not cheap, where does anyone think that money is going to come from. Isnt it about time for the great auction? She is not well, even Joe on his video, it looks like his right jaw is swollen, Bad molar? This is what happens when you just neglect everything and push it under the plywood bed. I cant imagine what those poor kids are dealing with in the way of there dental health. Did the boy quit McDonalds?

  38. Credit where credit is due. Horse looks better. (Not perfect, but much improved)

Now. whether that’s because they actually care enough to feed it more, or are afraid of the consequences of an animal abuse investigation…I really don’t care. I’m just glad she looks better fed. Better for the horse, better for the young lady.

Now, they need an actual fence that the horse can’t escape or get tangled up in.

Have we heard anything about whether the horse is making the trip to the new place with them?

    0

  39. Tof the random infrequent

My husband is very low in Vitamin D (15) and we all drink a lot of milk. My level is fine. I think the fact that I poach two eggs for myself every morning has kept my level high (39). I may also absorb it better than he does. I also eat a lot of yogurt. I love the stuff. Particularly Siggi’s. I’ve been trying to persuade him to eat more yogurt but he’s kinda stubborn.

    0

  40. If you like it, salmon is a good source of Vitamin D. I love salmon skin too and I think it has a reasonable amount available.

Good luck to you – I hope you feel better soon.

    0

  41. I can only see the Paypal link. Where did she say Breck County took all their money?

Also, Lisa, I am inclined to think that them postponing the court date is because then the CA could use the menacing conviction in Hardin to strengthen their case, right? It sounds like the CA has had it.

    0

  42. Toff: totally off topic of the Naugler’s but how were you diagnosed? I have a 14 yr old daughter that has been tired since November and we’ve run a million tests and everything is still coming back normal. She’s high functioning autistic with food aversions so her diet sucks but the newest doctor did blood work for vitamin deficiencies and they were normal.

    0

  43. I have always been a ridiculously picky eater, but have improved *somewhat* as an adult. I have had salmon a few times in my life and a couple times it was fabulous and the other times were enough to make me never want to try it again :/ I am a big dairy consumer but a poor milk drinker. Thanks for the positive wishes. I do feel okay as long as I get enough sleep, which, duh!, but enough for me these days seems to be 12-13 hours, which seems excessive.

My mother had always had thyroid issues. This year I gained almost 20# in six months while changing exactly NOTHING about my diet or lifestyle, and with a couple other symptoms that could potentially be thyroid related, I asked my dr to test my thyroid again. She agreed to, but also wanted to do a vit d test and some other blood tests (i still have one more to go since I had very uncooperative veins that day and not relishing all the pokes and bruises). Her assistant called me a week or two after to tell me she was calling in an rx for the vit D since I was deficient, but I still have not officially discussed it with the dr.

I don’t know if it is a common test or not around the country (this was the first time I have ever had one, but I have been super lucky to be pretty healthy this far) but she said it is really common to have adults end up deficient because of where we live. I plan to ask the pediatrician about the kids, since only one is a fan of drinking milk, and the little ones were intolerant of dairy for the first 18 months of their lives, and they are also picky non fish eaters.

(My original post was not intended to do any sort of armchair diagnosing, just a really long winded example of how things can be out of whack easily regardless of circumstances)

  44. Re : the latest horse picture – I wonder where they got the money for hair dye when they don’t have it for anything else? Maybe they get a *cough* discount?

    0

  45. Probably BEC but … I just HATE it when they dye the animals! They are much prettier in their natural colors. Thanks for listening!

    0

  46. The horse does not look any better to me. Still skinny and dull looking. Even with the dye.

I wonder if it’s possible that they don’t realise that CPS can and does do a lot more than just stealing and selling kids and ripping suckling infants from the arms of their mothers. They also have access to resources and can help set families up with services. For instance, if the kids have been traumatised by removal, there are supports they can get — free counselling, play therapy etc. A CPS worker can help parents navigate the system in order to access food, educational products, and other necessities.
I am just putting this here in case Nicole, or Jacob perhaps starts feeling desperate enough to actually seek some outside help. I am not sure of the specifics for Kentucky, but I support parents in accessing supports all the time and sometimes CPS is a good place to start because they usually are in the know about what’s available and can get things going more quickly than if you do a self referral.

  47. Dentures ARE expensive. You know what’s free for evil statist women living in poverty? Medicaid for pregnant women. This and children’s Medicaid offer free dental care. I had only seen cosmetic dentists as a kid until I was about 9, and didn’t get to a dentist until I was 24, pregnant and poor. Medicaid helped take care of some very painful teeth of mine. I had undiagnosed gastroparesis and several teeth had broken at the gum line due to vomiting. They were painful and I was happy to have access to care to say the least. Medicaid for pregnant women will pay for extractions and dentures if need be.
Nicole needs to swallow her shit, put on her big girl denim skirt and take care of her body. She is the only mama those kids have. She can’t care for them if she is unwell or dead. Hell, she isn’t doing a bang up job of parenting now while she’s “healthy”.

There is zero reason for her to be walking around with shards of rotten teeth in her head.

  48. @Tekla – I think you mentioned you are northern people. I won’t ask where you live, but I live in the Interior of Alaska where in the summer it’s pretty much 24 hrs daylight for about 4 months. People assume that because there is so much sunlight, we get a lot of Vitamin D which is actually untrue. The sun is at the wrong angle for us to benefit from the UV rays hitting our skin which is necessary for the body to produce vitamin D. While our long daylight hours means amazing gardening, it also means that most Alaskans are Vitamin D deficient.
Fish is an excellent source of Vitamin D, among other nutrients. We eat a lot of salmon in various forms – baked, fried, dried, smoked – and we go through a literal ton of salmon for our dogs too. Whitefish is also high in oils and delicious!!
If folks aren’t fond of just salmon, and they have a smoker, they should give Indian candy a try. I make a brine of maple syrup, brown sugar, garlic, salt, jalapenos, pepper, honey and water. The salmon is cut into thin strips and brined for at least 24 hrs. Then it is air dried for 2 days and then smoked for 8 hrs. Absolutely delicious!!
A couple of people have mentioned having thyroid blood work done. Most docs don’t do a full thyroid panel and a thyroid abnormality can be missed.
Ok, on to the horse. That is one unhappy beast. While she is still underweight, she looks a wee bit better. However she is wary and edgy and Nicole would do well to learn about how to move around a horse and then teach it to her kids. Walking right up behind a horse is an invitation to be kicked – causing serious injury or death. She is an idiot. O brings some hay – sub-par crap – and walks behind the horse and then alongside it. For the love of gawd Nicole, learn how to not only take care of a horse, but how to move around one. That is a tragedy waiting to happen. And please take care of her hooves – those back ones are in bad shape.

  49. ToF wrote, “I don’t know if it is a common test or not around the country (this was the first time I have ever had one, but I have been super lucky to be pretty healthy this far) but she said it is really common to have adults end up deficient because of where we live. I plan to ask the pediatrician about the kids, since only one is a fan of drinking milk, and the little ones were intolerant of dairy for the first 18 months of their lives, and they are also picky non fish eaters.”

It’s being tested for more and more these days. It’s a very common deficiency and as you noted, it can cause a host of problems.

Yes, this study was done on mice but it’s interesting and a good jumping off point: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19444937

As we age, we don’t produce it as well. A 70 year old makes about four times less vitamin D than a 20 year old. It’s also fat soluble so the heavier someone is the less that is available. You mentioned that you’ve put on weight despite changing nothing else – I would peer very closely at any canned foods to see if they changed something up on you. Plus the thyroid test. See if you can add an additional mile a day to your movement. Mushrooms are a decent source of Vitamin D too – maybe you and your kids like mushrooms.

Sorry about your veins – that’s a tough one. Try drinking 32 oz of water before going in for a blood draw. They may still dive but if you’re well-hydrated it makes it a little easier to find them and get the necessary amount on the first try.

  50. We eat a lot of salmon in various forms

The salmon is one of the things we miss so much about Alaska. They have salmon here, but it’s crappy Atlantic pink salmon. Not fit for human consumption. That’s why people think they hate salmon.

And you can buy red salmon, but it’s five million dollars an ounce. I splurge every now and then on it and then give most of it to Dave because he loves it so much.

When we lived up there, we went dipnetting at the mouth of the Kenai River and got our limit, and then in addition Dave would go fishing periodically and get more. I remember one night in particular. He’d gone fishing the afternoon before, caught his limit of reds (6) and had a bit of a nap in the camper. He awoke to go fishing again after midnight, so he could get another limit (6). In addition, he taught a couple that he met along the river how to catch the salmon, and they limited out. They were tent-camping, from Europe, and had no use for the fish (12) so they gave them to him. He came home with all those fish at about 3 a.m. and cleaned them in the garage.

I canned fish all the rest of that night and the entire next day.

I smoked and canned hundreds of jars of salmon every year.

I’m not as far north as you – far from it. I’ve had Indian candy before. I pay a ridiculous amount for it per pound and I can barely get it home to share with the family because it IS that fantastic. I don’t think they add jalapeños to their mixture, but it would be a case of gilding a lily. Whenever we do eat salmon fillets I’m secretly pleased that my family isn’t as big a fan of the skin as I am. Oh, I tell them they should eat it but I’m on it like a shark.

  54. If you suspect thyroid problems, Google “thyroid change” and take a look at the research posted there. Lots of people are not diagnosed properly, and if they are, they’re given only synthetic t4 (levoxyl in the States) and that may not be enough. Our blood testing for thyroid issues is actually pretty inadequate for many people.

My hair only stopped falling out once I got on naturethroid plus levoxyl. Levoxyl alone did nothing. I had every symptom of hypothyroidism but could not get properly diagnosed until I saw a doc willing to try what worked for my other relatives–natural dessicated thyroid.

  55. When we lived in CA, we fished for tuna and salmon with friends. They never wanted their fish so I got it all and yes I canned and smoked and even tried drying both the tuna and the salmon. The first year that we fished for tuna, I wasn’t prepared for the abundance, so we bought ice chests and filled them with tuna and ice. None went bad before I could get it the two hour trip home and get it canned, but the next year, we went prepared: rented a cabin, took my pressure cooker and our smoker and we processed the fish as they caught it. We keep saying we are going back for a few weeks so the grandkids can fish for tuna and also for salmon. We take all the grandkids and our kids fishing for trout up in Missouri. We rent a pretty large cabin and I can some of the trout but most goes in the freezer. Since we are vegetarians (pescatarians), we freeze and can a huge amount of fish in a “bigly” way.

Also, I was thinking that the horse was walking a little off compared to the way my granddaughter’s horses walk but I thought it was the age differences in the three horses. My granddaughter’s horses are younger and are quite spunky. The first thing the horse guy taught my granddaughter and those of us who are around the horses is don’t walk behind them and do not approach them from the side too quickly. My granddaughter does get behind the first horse but she starts at the front, talking to her, rubbing her down, giving her treats, and then she works her way to the rump where she brushes and checks her out.

Horses require a lot of care and a lot of watching out for one thing or another. My granddaughter is obsessed with their hooves so she checks them often. I ask her what she is looking for and she told me it’s like checking nails for ingrown or broken or too long… I think my granddaughter loves her horses so much that she looks for ways to pay attention to them.

  56. Sally, you are so right on the Alaskan salmon. I once had a friend give me a quart of her Alaskan salmon. I had no idea! Never had anything like it before or ever again, absolutely amazing flavor and texture. Even the most expensive bought here in the south doesn’t even begin to compare.
The horse horror video makes me cringe waiting for the inevitable kick. Stupidity on full display again but then that was Nicole filming I believe.
Nicole’s teeth are going to get worse unless she gets help. Was she wearing TEDs at the Dueling Banjos session? She’s a wreck. Why oh why would anyone allow that to continue, especially while pregnant. She does have a choice and she chooses this option, that spells batshit crazy like none other. I wish CPS would step in for the lack of maternal responsibility here.

Lisa or anyone else with a legal background: could you explain the court proceedings that we are seeing. I understand the arraignment but going forward on the two separate cases, will they now be heard by a judge or jury or can we expect more intermediate sessions before a verdict is handed down? TIA.

  57. Bill-If you go on her FB, there’s a picture of the kids smiling during a family game night, their teeth look fine to me, thank god. I imagine they have better hygiene then NN, homeless people have better hygiene than she does.
Having the teeth pulled with or without dentures would be better than whatever is going on in her mouth now. I’d rather see a gummy, toothless NN than that mess.
Has anyone ever met them? Do they smell? I mean…her mouth…has to give off some kind of awful odor? People who run a business should really look more presentable. I’m sorry if ya’ll disagree but I grew up being told to always look nice when at our place of business (my dad owned a business). There’s a time and place to look like…that….it’s at the homeless shelter. If her hair looks like a matted dog why would I bring my dog to her? It doesn’t make any sense to me how she generates ANY business. I would be interested in real people who have really gone there. Not just the fluffy reviews on the business FB, you really can’t believe anything on FB that’s associated with her.

  58. I had read that the thyroid test (tsh) they generally use can sometimes not pick up issues depending on what the issue is, and to ask for a full thyroid panel. I did that, and was denied because clearly google isn’t as educated as she is (my last dr also did not give me the full panel when I asked, but I didn’t push the issue). I am planning to find a new one, because this one seems a little condescending to me and it kind of pissed me off how she flat out refused to order the full panel when I asked. She said it would only be ordered if the TSH came back abnormal.
(I also figured out after the fact that my weight gain just so happened to start right around the same time I started taking an antidepressant because maybe my exhaustion was from depression. Different doctor at least. I have not been a super fan of any of my personal doctors so far in this state, but I have hope that there are good ones that I have not happened upon yet. I hate switching around just to find someone I like when I don’t really have a reason to go. When I finally do end up going I have a giant list of minor things that are never enough to warrant an office visit by themselves, so I look like a super giant hypochondriac to them because of this extensive list). (I have been Off the antidepressants now for a few months and still tired, but I think I was more tired while on them. I feel better mentally while off the things.

Years ago at the local hospital there was an amazing phlebotomist that did the best job ever. First try, minimal pain, always got enough, minimal bruising. I thought that maybe becoming a grown up fixed my blood collecting issues, but that was incorrect. I have had lots of labs since her and only one time did anyone else come close to her skill with me. I always drink a ton of water when I know I am having blood drawn, and it does not seem to make a difference 🙁
Enough about me and my veins and thyroid!
That salmon brine sounds really good!
Sort of on topic, I had a dream last night that I was visiting the Nauglers. It was sort of like the conversation video on the shop, but at the “house”, which was an actual house because it was a dream. Everything was organized and neat, with all kinds of cool storage solutions I was jealous of. I seriously woke up thinking it was real for a minute and woke up feeling so happy that they were getting their crap together..

  59. Kora,
Thank you so much for posting info on how Medicaid can assist pregnant women. I didn’t know that and maybe she doesn’t either.
She works hard to support her family and maybe feels that she can’t take the time off. It would so pay for itself in the long haul.

  60. A few comments back someone posted about N being too old for small kids. I was thinking of some snarky thing to say, because I am one of those geriatric moms (I am 43 and have 4yo twins, a 5yo, and a 10yo). Without a doubt I was way less tired with #1 and 2, but how much is attributable to my age (still on the older side even from the get go), and how much is attributable to having two at once with another so close in age? The combo of my age + kiddos could be a huge reason for being tired with zero underlying medical issues.
I honestly can’t fathom having any more kids at this point from the exhaustion aspect alone.

I cannot imagine that having all those young kids and working at the shop could be envigorating even under the beat of circumstances. I can’t wrap my mind around how exhausting that would be. I would probably literally die.

  61. Bumble Bee canned wild Alaskan salmon is as close to home-canned Alaskan salmon as I have found. It has the bones and skin in it, which puts some people off, but it’s all edible–just like sardines. Those bones are tiny chewable savory bits of calcium-rich goodness. Just mash it all well with a fork if you don’t like looking at the “bits” and enjoy. I was eating a can of salmon a day when I was pregnant and it was all going to the baby. My husband was prescribed traditional-style canned salmon by his doctor, so he eats it for lunch almost every day and our old cat gets the can broth. Furrball cries like a kitten for his salmon broth, and the vet says he’s healthy as a horse.

But dang, it costs a lot. Even the pink salmon, which is pretty good, is expensive. (Pink salmon canned Lower 48 style, with all of the bones and skin picked out, is tasteless mush–don’t waste your money!)

As for Indian candy, that sounds like what we call smokefish around here. Keeps for a year or more at room temperature if you don’t let it get damp, perfumes the entire house when you unwrap it. You can use it like chipped beef or just eat it all up while the cat goes nuts around your ankles.

  62. I have Sjogrens Syndrome and one of the aspects of it is a dry mouth along with nerve damage, as time went on my teeth rotted off in my head and I kep ignoring it. It got to the point that eating was difficult, eating on one side, afraid to bite into a good steak for fear of breaking off another one. I took the plinge, sat in the chair and had 9 removed all at once, the aftermass was bloody pillows for a day. A long healing process, but the minute they came out I had a temp put in. Last month I was fitted for a permanent one. What a world of difference. Am I excited about wearing a denture of course not, but its a sight better then before. Its expensive but everyone needs to make a dollar somehow. NN, as stated,, your the kids mother, take care of yourself but your shitty attitude wont allow you. so FU you stupid cowb

  63. I learned how to smoke meat when I lived in Alaska. I will never have salmon that good again. I do remember smoked smelts (if I spelled it correctly) my memory tells me it was close to bacon. Could anyone here tell me about that fish? I think I remember it being an unpopular choice with the locals? I lived in Fairbanks at the corner of 6th & Kelum in a log cabin. That’s been years ago, I miss the fishing. I will never miss the winter, the lack of sunlight or that bone chilling cold! Fairbanks was a great place to make lifelong friends.

  64. @Sally – Loved those pictures. One of my favorite things is fish camp!!

@Tekla – Soooo, I guess since you pay a lot of money for Indian candy, you probably don’t want to hear about how our sled dogs eat a variety of salmon (Kings, reds, chum) all winter long then right? I cook about 20 lbs a day for them. And then we consume a ridiculous amount as well. I have experimented with different Indian candy recipes. I make some with jalapeños because I like a little kick. Sometimes it has peppercorns. Sometimes just regular. A friend recently sent me some real Canadian maple syrup and OMG!!
@Essie – you are correct. The testing for thyroid is inadequate in many cases, as is the medication. I have Graves disease and almost died before a doctor took my complaints seriously enough. I went into thyroid storm and had to be medivaced from a remote village I was in.

  65. I have a feeling the family will come into a pretty hefty sum of Guvment money soon.
The IRS will be releasing refunds starting 2/15.
I’m pretty sure they won’t pass up the “earned income credit” or the “child tax credit”. With the amount of children they have, they will have 0 tax liability and will get a good refund.

  66. The million dollar question. How does she make any money at the salon? I don’t think she does. Not grooming dogs anyway.

Not without SS numbers, they won’t.

  68. If she claimed her kids on her taxes would that make her a whore of the state? The kids get substandard nutrients because N does not want to be a whore of the state , she just wants to be an ordinary whore I guess. In my book if you keep having kids that you can barely feed, clothe, educate or house, you’re a whore and a stupid one at that.

    According to her, yes.

  70. Indian Candy sounds delicious. Can someone share a recipe? I have a smoker and I burn hickory cut in chunks ( the sawdust from the stores wears me out). I’ve tried to smoke apple wood and for the life of me I can’t find a meat I like with it. I smoked a 16# turkey at New Year’s & used the extra racks to smoke 4 chickens and a pork tenderloin. I love this blog, we are all so diverse yet alike in many ways.

I feel for you Bill. I’m so glad you have good dentures now but as you and I know, the dry mouth won’t get better. Do you use the Biotene Oral Gel? Or is there another product you would recommend instead? Do you also have dry eyes?

  72. Catherine, if the tone of my comment was off I am sorry. I had been drinking and gotten myself fired up with Naugler flavored stupid.
I had no idea how it worked until I found myself in a spot where I needed it. Since then I have helped a few sign up for coverage where I live. Good medical care is so important during pregnancy especially.

  73. Sally, that salmon looks delicious! My grandmother used to can fish. No idea where her recipes are but damn, I’m craving it now!

  74. @ikeepforgettingmyname – you are talking about hooligan fishing. Very cool. Hooligan/eulachon/smelts come by the droves in the coastal waters and are unpopular with salmon fishermen because they will snatch a fly and then you are stuck with a 5 or 6 inch fish. They are super oily – so much so, that when dried, they can be used as a candle. They are an acquired taste but I love them. I think that’s because my people are from the east coast and I grew up on smelt fries, lobster, scallop, salmon, clams etc. It was poor people food then.
Here is the recipe I used for this latest batch of Indian candy. I don’t really use measuring cups but am pretty good at eyeballing things. And at the end I add what suits my taste.:
    500 grams brown sugar
1 1/2 cups real maple syrup
Few tablespoons of butter flavor syrup
1 to 1 1/5 cups honey. (I use raw honey which leans towards sweetness)
    Heaping handful of coarse salt
Heaping handful of steak spice (I don’t use it)
    2 tablespoons of garlic powder
    1 teaspoon lemon pepper
    1/4 cup water
2 diced jalapenos (my own idea)

Stir all the ingredients together. I took 2 about 8 lb salmon and filleted then, skinned them and cut the filets into strips about 3 inches long and an inch thick. Put the salmon in a GLASS baking dish (I used 2 glass cake pans). Pour the brine over the salmon and stir it around. Then take a fork and poke, poke, poke the salmon.
Lightly sprinkle brown sugar and sea salt over the top, a handful of peppercorns too and cover with plastic wrap. Put in the fridge. After 12 hours, give it all a stir and back in the fridge for 12 hours.

After 24 hrs take toothpicks and poke them through each salmon piece and hang the salmon across the smoker racks or the oven rack (I use the oven.) Let dry for 48 hrs. They are ready to smoke when the salmon has a translucent quality.

And then into the smoker for 4 or more hrs. The longer you smoke, the more it will lean towards jerky. I usually let mine go a bit longer because for me it’s a snack on the trap line.

    Enjoy!

Peg – at this point I’m accustomed to the idea that my animals have a better and more expensive diet than my own. Mostly. Your dogs work hard and need all the high-quality fuel they can get. I don’t begrudge them. But don’t be surprised if I were to turn up one day, looking all sad and begging for your recipe. Which you can share right now and save me that hassle and cost of a flight. You know, if it’s not a family secret that will only be passed along to your favorite living relative…

  77. Tof,
That was me who said NN was too old to be having kids but she already has an entire litter. My dad was over 40 when he had me. I’m not trying to come off as some rude, young mom. You’re over 40 and just barely starting your family, that’s different. You’re probably in generally good health? My dad wasn’t, he’s a retired police officer who retired due to multiple injuries (shot twice and ran over once) which lead into obesity due to severe pain from those injuries. He smoked, which lead to heart disease, lung cancer, etc. He had a heart attack when I was 12 and another when I was 16. NN does not look healthy and I can see my childhood and teen years coming back to me when I look at her. I grew up taking care of my dad, god I love him so much but it was HARD. But do you know what would have been harder? If he had died. He is my best friend, my life coach, my reasoning for who I am today. I repeat, NN does NOT look healthy.
I didn’t mean any disrespect, I just want ya’ll to see it from someone who had an older, unhealthy parent. Young parents can also be unhealthy.
