Nicole and Joe hate the police. They aren’t subtle about it. Anyone who follows her wretched Nicole C Naugler Facebook page for more than two days knows it. You can go over there, scroll down and find meme after meme bashing the police.
They hate the police because Todd Pate came out to their property and took their children. That’s the total problem and the total reason. The police, the courts, they tell Nicole and Joe Naugler “no.” And like small children, the Nauglers don’t like that and throw temper tantrums.
I totally understand the outrage sweeping this country in the wake of the two videos that appear to show police officers committing what I have trouble describing as anything short of murder. I have read enough American history to understand that what white people are starting to realize (that the police often unfairly target blacks) is a history that black Americans have lived with for centuries. The difference now is that cell phone cameras are ubiquitous. And I am horrified and outraged.
But in the wake of the horrific shootings in Dallas, Texas last night, I am also aghast at Nicole’s effort here to pour gasoline on a burning fire. And that’s what she’s doing.
In my copy of her post, I have blurred the photos of the victims, but Nicole of course did not. I know that those photos are all over the web, but I am not going to have them here.
The other thing that really bothered me about this was her caption.
You got some mo of that freedom?
It’s not the sentiment I object to. Nicole thinks everything is designed to totally prevent her from being “free” to do anything she wishes whenever she wishes without regard for another human being and that includes her children, and I’m so used to her blathering on about it that I hardly notice.
What I find offensive is her use of what she thinks is “black dialect,” in the context of something she would consider a statement of ignorance.
I wonder how she’d like it if I put words meant to show ignorance in her children’s mouths and wrote them in “Kentucky dialect.”
She would do well to seriously look at herself and figure out why she thought such a blatantly racist comment was okay.
